Model Sheet Assignment

We got to discuss some basic aspects of Animation design in the previous class. With the short lecture, the pdf provided to you (class folder in the resource room) and examples found on this blog and other sources, you  should be able to begin designing your own characters.

Check the Assignments Page for more details on the assignment.

Take these basics and start experimenting, and try to refine or either define your own unique skill-set.

Below you will find a list of Websites in which you can find some samples:

The Unofficial Disney Animation Archive

Original model sheet of Mickey Mouse from ‘Fantasia.’ You can include short instructive/discriptive notes on your model sheets.

Animation Model Sheets – A collection by Sean Wickett

Notice the inclusion of the head-heights, simple body shape breakdown and different angles to give the animators a full reference of the character.

The Drawing Board – An online forum where you browse and/or make a request of various Model Sheets.

Live action films, also use character sheets. In some cases these are then created as CG, Physical models or costumes that actors wear.

Check online for other sources if need be, but these should be more than sufficient to inspire you for the assignment.
